MBL, BB ink participatory deal

Mercantile Bank Limited (MBL) and Bangladesh Bank (BB) signed a participatory agreement under refinance scheme for Small and Medium Enterprise Development Project (SMEDP) at a ceremony at the central bank headquarters in the city on Wednesday.
Mercantile Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kazi Masihur Rahman and BB General Manager (Financial Inclusion Department) and Project Manager of SMEDP-2 Md Abul Bashar signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations, said a press release.
BB Deputy Governor Shitangshu Kumar Sur Chowdhury, and MBL Deputy Managing Director and DCBO Md Zakir Hossain and Head of SME Division Basudeb Paul attended the signing ceremony along with other high officials of Bangladesh Bank.   
Bangladesh Bank in collaboration with Asian Development Bank (ADB) has raised a US$ 240 million refinancing scheme fund under SMEDP-2 project for SME entrepreneurs through commercial banks and Mercantile Bank has nominated to receive this fund for mentioned      purpose.
