HABIGANJ, Jan 12: Sheikh Hasina Medical College has started its journey as the 31st government medical institution in the country.
Local lawmaker Advocate Mohammad Abu Jahir inaugurated the medical college on Wednesday afternoon. The medical college began its journey with 51 students and nine teachers.  
Among others, Roads and Highway Department Secretary Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Joint Secretary Mohammad Mokhlesur Rahman, Joint Secretary Manindra Kishore Majumder, Deputy Commissioner Manish Chakma, and Principal Dr. Abu Sufian, were also present.
Later, the guests visited the classrooms and talked with the students.
The classes of the medical college will be held on the 1st and 2nd floor of the new 250-Bed Habiganj Hospital till the new campus is ready.
