Fire at Moghbazar high-rise building doused

A fire that broke out at a high-rise building in Moghbazar area in capital Dhaka on Saturday is now under control.

 

Fire Service and Civil Defence control room sources said the fire broke out at the basement of a 16-storey 'Green Austral' building in Moghbazar Chowrasta area around 11:40am.

 

On information, five units of firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the flame after one hour of frantic efforts, said Masudur Rahman Akanda, assistant director of the fire service, reports UNB.

 

A private car was gutted in the fire, said the official.

 

However, the reason behind the fire could not be known yet.
