Domestic help arrested with 24 bhori gold in Rajshahi

Rajshahi police arrested a domestic help on charge of stealing 50 bhori of gold ornaments from Mohadevpur area of Naogaon district on Saturday morning.

 

The arrested, Bobita Begum, 30, is the wife of Faruk Hossain, a resident in the area.

 

A team of Boalia Police Station of Rajshahi city arrested the domestic help along with 24 bhori of gold from her home in Naogaon this morning, the police station inspector Selim Badsha said.

 

Bobita worked at the house of Shamiul Alam Manik in New Market area of Rajshahi city.

 

Earlier on Thursday, the domestic help stole around 50 bhori of gold ornaments along with some other materials and got away, the police official said quoting house holder Shamiul.

 

Only 24 bhori of gold was recovered, although she stole a total of 50 bhori, the householder claimed.

 

Following the incident, Shamiul filed a complaint with Boalia Police Station in this connection.
