Jubo League leader, another die ‘taking liquor’

A local Jubo League leader and his companion have died and three others fallen sick reportedly after taking liquor at Soydabad of Sirajganj Sadar upazila.

 

The deceased are Alam Sheikh, 42, a resident of Soydabad and general secretary of Jubo League's ward-9 of Soydabad union, and Ramzan

Ali, 45, from Konabari village of Belkuchi upazila, report UNB.

 

Officer-in-charge of Sirajganj Sadar Police Station Rafiqul Islam said Alam Sheikh and Ramzan along with three labourers swallowed liquor in Soydabad rehabilitation area on Thursday night and fell ill.

 

Of them, Ramzan died at night while Alam around 2pm on Saturday at Sirajganj Sadar Hospital on Friday, he added.

 

The three other labourers are Seraj, 35, Badshah, 42, and Alam, 38.
