Appeal seeks Khaleda's division in jail

Lawyers of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia have filed a petition with court seeking a division status for the jailed party chief.


Barrister Zakir Hussain Bhuyian and advocate Aminul Islam filed the petition with the special judge court-5 on Sunday morning.


Advocate Aminul Islam confirmed media about filing of the appeal.


The BNP on Saturday alleged the party chairperson Khaleda Zia did not get division  in jail though she was a former prime minister.


On February 8, a special court convicted Khaleda and sentenced her to five years imprisonment in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.

Later, she was taken to the old central jail at at Nazimuddin Road.
