Capitec Asset Management launched

Aiming at accelerating the mutual fund market of Bangladesh, Capitec Asset Management Company started its journey on Sunday.

Former Bangladesh Bank governor Atiur Rahman launched the company as the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony, said a press release.

Capitec Chairman Mohshina Naila and other Directors, prominent business person Hasan Rahman, Kishoreganj-2 MP Md Suhrab Uddin, high officials of Bangladesh Bank and other banks and insurance companies were also present in the inauguration ceremony.

Bangladesh Cricket sensation Shakib Al Hasan was also present on the occasion.

Dr Atiur Rahman said companies like Capitec are very essential to strengthen the capital market of Bangladesh.

“I believe, with experienced and efficient people, this company can make a remarkable difference in the stock market and money market. In our country, many investors fail to analyse the risks of the stock market and thus cannot take the right decision.”

A skilled and competent asset management company can provide support to the investors by helping them invest in prospective shares, he added.

Capitec Asset Management Limited Managing Director, also former Executive Director and Spokesperson of Bangladesh Bank, Mahfuzur Rahman said prioritising customers’ interest and maintaining transparency are our main goal is to have a positive impact on the capital market.
