Work of new fire station at Singra begins
NATORE, Feb 13: The construction work of the new fire station building was inaugurated at Chougram Village under Singra Upazila here on Monday.
The building will be built at Tk 2.23 crore, said concerned officials.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, inaugurated the work.
In this connection, a meeting was held on Uttar Chougram Rajbari Compound in Singra with President of Chougram Union Awami League Altaf Hossain in the chair.
Deputy Director of Natore Fire Service and Civil Defence Nurul Islam, Executive Engineer of Public Works Department Humayun Kabir, Zila Parishad Member Salauddin Al-Azad and local political leaders were present at the inaugural function.
The chief guest Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, "Chalan Beel area in Singra Upazila has become a model of development, which has been possible by the the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The beel areas have been an undeveloped region for long, but now it has become a developed area. As a result, the people of Singra Upazila are now enjoying a happier life than before."
On the same day, the minister also inaugurated the newly built building of the Singra Land Office, which was built at Tk 52 lakh.
Earlier, the minister distributed rice among 100 poor people. Besides, he inaugurated some development works in the upazila on the same day.
