The new and reconstructed police stations are: Shahmukhdum, Airport, Matiher, Katakhali, Belpukur, Rajpara, Kasiadanga, Boalia Model, Chandrima, Paba, Karnahar and Damkura. RMP Commissioner Mahbubor Rahman revealed this a press conference at his office conference hall here today.

Mahbubor Rahman said the new police stations were established considering its demands. RMP area has been enhanced to 900 squire-kilometers from the previous 203 squire-kilometers.

In the preliminary stage, the new stations will be functioning in rented buildings with the existing manpower. Own buildings will be arranged next in phases.

RMP chief said police services will be reached to the people’s doorsteps with boosting the number of police stations. Simultaneously, the crime prevention will be easier. “We have already got manpower for the new stations,” said RMP Commissioner Rahman.

Mahabubor Rahman said RMP began its journey with four police stations-Shahmukhdum, Matiher, Rajpara and Boalia- in 1992.

RMP’S vision is to provide quality service by competent, efficient and dedicated professionals enjoying trust and respect of citizens to make Rajshahi City better and safer place to live, the RMP chief said adding that the new police stations will contribute a lot to fulfill the vision as a whole.
