DU student found dead in Hazaribagh

A Dhaka University student was found dead beside a under construction building near Hazaribagh Beribadh in the capital on Wednesday afternoon.


The deceased was identified as Torun Hossain, a third year student of finance department, also residence of Sir AF Rahman Hall of the university hailing from Kushtia district.


Quoting locals, Hazaribagh police officer in charge Ikram Ali Mia said that residents of the area found Torun’s injured body at the building where a mosque was also situated on the first floor.


Torun died while he was being taken to a nearby hospital, he added. Later police received the body around 3:30pm.


Ikram Ali Mia also said that they did not find any suspicious thing in his cell phone, and the reason behind the death could be known after autopsy, he said.


We would take further steps after arrival of his family members, he added.


Torun’s roommates said that he was very introvert boy and left the room after lunch on Wednesday noon without saying anything about his destination.


They further said that they did not find anything abnormal in recent past in his behaviour.


Dhaka University proctor Golam Rabbani said he heard about the incident and the proctorial teams were heading towards Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
