CHANDPUR, Feb 14: Mentioning that corruption cannot be wiped out from the country by only filing cases, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Iqbal Mahmood on Wednesday underscored the need for raising awareness and putting up a resistance against the menace.
While addressing a discussion participated by government officials and public representatives at the deputy commissioner's office, he also said the country's development will get stalled very soon if corruption cannot be rooted out.
Turning to the leakage of question papers during the ongoing Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations, he said a country cannot run this way. "It's not the responsibility of the education minister alone to prevent it (leakage). The guardians and students must be more conscious and responsible to this end."    —UNB
