Charitable Graft Case
Order on Khaleda’s trial Sept 20
A special court in Dhaka fixed September 20 to pass order whether the Zia Charitable Trust graft case against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia should continue or not in her absence.
Judge Md Akhteruzzaman of Special Judge Court-5 temporary set up inside the old central jail on Nazimuddin Road fixed the date on Thursday after a hearing.
Khaleda Zia, three times prime minister, now serving a five-year jail term in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case, showed reluctance to appear before the trial court for consecutive two days in the Zia Charitable Trust graft case.
ACC Prosecutor Mosharraf Hossain Kajol submitted before the court to fix the judgement date after ending the case proceedings even if accused Khaleda does not appear.
On the other hand her lawyer Adv Sanaullah Miah and Adv Masud Ahmed Talukder prayed for the adjournment of the court proceedings as she was sick.
After hearing both the sides the court also extended her bail up to September20.
