A Class-VI girl was rescued from Bhabanipur in Sadar upazila of Chuadanga district on Tuesday, 40 days after she was allegedly abducted from Balarampur village in Sadar upazila of Kushtia.

The victim's father alleged that Asif Mollah, 22, son of Azad Mollah of the same village, abducted her daughter on August 30 last, UNB reports.

A case was filed with Islamic University Police Station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act on September 6.
