Man gets death for killing wife

NETRAKONA, Oct 11: A court here on Monday sentenced a man to death in absentia for killing his wife in 2011.
District and Sessions Judge KM Rasheduzzaman Raza announced the verdict.
According to the prosecution, convict Mamud killed his second wife Shahana Khatun at Chhoto Koilati Village in Barhatta Upazila on May 25, 2011 following a family feud.
Later, the victim's brother Mamun Meer filed a murder case accusing seven people including Mamud Ali with Barhatta Police Station.
The court, however, acquitted two accused as they were not found guilty.
