AL infighting kills 2, injures 10

Two people were killed and 10 others injured in a clash between two rival groups of local Awami League in Bharara union under Sadar upazila of Pabna district on Monday evening.

The deceased were identified as Laskhar Khan and Malek Sheikh, said Bharara Union Parishad chairman Abu Sayeed.

Local people said both groups fired gunshots, leaving around 10/15 bullet injured.

Chairman Abu Sayeed blamed Sultan group for the incident. Sultan was never involved in Awami League politics, rather he is a supporter of Jasad. The group made the attack to foil environment ahead of the election, Abu Sayeed added.

Ibne Mizan, additional superintendent of Pabna Sadar Circle, said police were deployed on the spot to keep situation under control.
