The students of Viqarunnisa Noon School & College (VNSC) on Thursday evening called off their protests over the death of Aritree Adhikari after getting assurance from teachers of fulfilling their demands gradually.

Anushka Roy, spokesperson of the protesting students, announced to go back to class and examination from Friday.

Anushka told reporters, "The teachers assured us of fulfilling our all demands step by step. Now, we will back to class."

"And the legal matters will be resolved through court, teachers assured," Anushka added.

Aritree Adhikari, a Class-IX student of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College (VNSC), reportedly committed suicide at their Shantinagar residence in Dhaka on Monday after allegedly being rebuked by teachers for using mobile phone during examination.

Protesting Aritree's death, her peers and guardians started demonstrating in front of the school from Monday.
