A 13-member Journalist Welfare Trustee Board has been formed by the government making Information Minister as chairman and Information Secretary as vice-chairman.
The board was formed acoording to Section 6 of Bangladesh Journalist Welfare Trust Act 2014.
Other members of the board are: Daily Samakal editor Golam Sarwar, Principal Information Officer, an official equivalent to director general nominated by the Prime Minister's Office, Director General of Press Institute of Bangladesh, BFUJ president anmd secretary general, Managing Editor of the Daily Sangbad and President of Nari Sangbadik Kendra.
Besides, Journalist Welfare Trust's managing director made member secretary of the board.
