Saima Wazed Hossain Putul, Chief of the new National Advisory Committee on Autism, has been nominated for the Southeast Asia Region Award for Excellence in Public Health in recognition of her "glorious and outstanding" contributions to creating mass awareness about autism in Bangladesh and in South Asia. She is going to receive the award on September 10 from Dr Poonam Khetrapal Singh, Regional Director for Southeast Asia, World Health Organization (WHO), said Health and Family Welfare Minister.
