A Dhaka court on Wednesday summoned Posts and Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui to appear before it on October 28 and October 30 in connection with two separate cases for hurting religious sentiment of Muslims through his comments regarding hajj and Tablig Jamaat.
Earlier in the morning, Supreme Court senior lawyer AKM Abed Reza filed a case with a CMM court under Section 295(Ka) and Section 298(2).
Besides, Alhaj Mohammad Badal,, a cattle-hide trader and a resident of Chawkbazar in Mawartek of the
capital, filed another case with the same court under the same section.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Mizanur Rahman asked him to appear before the court and explain it in person on October 28 following a petition filed by Advocate ANM Abed Raja.
Besides, Judge Mohammad Rezaul Karim of the court asked the minister to appear before it on October 30 in a case filed by Badal Miah.
