Awami League Central Working Committee (ALCWC) will decided the fate of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui Sunday for his derogatory remarks on hajj, Tablig Jamaat and the Prime Minister's son.

The meeting will be presided over by Prime Minister and ruling Awami League President Sheikh Hasina.

On Saturday, Cabinet Secretary M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui would be removed from the cabinet anytime.
"President has returned home from Saudi Arabia. We will send the related documents to the President for his signature and the minister will be expelled from the cabinet anytime after the president's approval," the cabinet secretary said.

On September 28, Latif Siddique at a view-exchange meeting with expatriates from Tangail in New York made disparaging remarks about Hajj, Tablig Jamaat and the Prime Minister's son Sajeeb Wazed Joy.

At a press conference on October 3, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said Latif Siddiqui will be removed from the cabinet, and the AL central working committee will take a decision on his fate.

The party sources said disciplinary actions would be taken against Latif Siddiqui at the meeting as announced by the Prime Minister earlier.

While talking to reporters in Savar on Friday afternoon, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader told journalists that any leader or minister who will take stand against the party’s principle and ideology cannot be there in the party, no matter how powerful they are.

He also observed that the incident involving Abdul Latif Siddiqui was a wake-up call for those who make unguarded remarks holding important posts.
