Detective branch of police on October 5 arrested Abuubaida Kadir, 46, and Zubair's friend Ismail for their alleged involvement with the killing.
A good swimmer Zubair allegedly drowned in a pond at Uttara sector-4 on Saturday evening.
Following the death, police arrested his swimming instructor Kadir, who has been staying in Bangladesh illegally for last 10 years.
On October 4, Zubair, Ismail and Kadir went to the nearby pond to take a bath after finishing their game.
“As Kadir tried to molest Zubair, he resisted Kadir and engaged in a fisticuff with him, leaving Zubair injured. Later, the young boy died,” said the DC.
"After the arrest, police scanned the mobile phone of Kadir and found text messages sent to the teenaged boys in obnoxious language.” Md Iqbal Hossain, he added.

Sheikh Rasel Kabir, sub-inspector (SI) of Uttara East police station and investigating officer of the case, placed the arrestee before the court seeking a 10-day remand for questioning.
Metropolitan Magistrate Snigdha Rani Chakrabarti placed the arrestee on a two-day remand.
Earlier on October 5, members of police recovered the body of Zubair from a pond near a football ground.
Zubair’s mother filed a case with Uttara East thana in this regard.
