A case was filed against BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia for hurting religious sentiment of Muslims through her remarks.

AB Siddiqui, president of Jananetri Parishad, a pro-Awami league organisation, filed the case with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court on Tuesday morning.

Magistrate Mostafizur Rahman passed the order later today.

According to the case statement, BNP chief has made derogatory remarks about Awami League while addressing a function marking Durga Puja at Institution of Engineers in the capital on October 14.

Khaleda said "Awami League is wearing the mask secularism and it is a party of atheists."
