Relief and Disaster Management Minister Mofazzel Hossain Chowdhury Maya on Wednesday said BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia would not be exempted from graft cases by calling anti-people hartal.
"People will no support BNP's hartals as they know those are for protecting Khaleda Zia and her two sons from graft cases as well as for hindering development of the country," he said while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting Awami League office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital.
Maya said BNP-Jamaat alliance had created a chaotic situation in the country in name of hartals and blockades prior to the last national elections to foil the polls. "But, they failed to foil the elections," he said.
The minister said the country would become ineffective state like Afghanistan, if the last general election was not held. "After the election all instabilities were wiped out and now the country is advancing towards development in faster pace," he said.
Sammilito Awami Samarthak Jot organized the discussion meeting to protest anti democratic conspiracy of BNP-Jamaat alliance.    ?BSS
