Former State Minister for Housing and Public Works Abdul Mannan Khan's wife Syeda Hasina Sultana was granted bail by the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court on Thursday on surrender in a corruption case filed for amassing illegal wealth and hiding information in wealth statement.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahriar Mahmud Adnan granted the bail upon a bond of Tk 20,000 on Thursday.
Earlier in the morning, Hasina Sultana submitted a prayer to surrender before the CMM court.
Senior Advocate Syed Rezaur Rahman and Abul Kalam Azad moved for her bail while a group of ACC lawyer led by Mosharraf Hossain Kazol opposed the bail prayer.
On Tuesday, Anti Corruption Commission's Deputy Director Nasiruddin filed the case with Ramna Police Station.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), Syeda Hasina Sultana accumulated wealth worth of Tk 3.5 crore illegally.
Earlier, she submitted her wealth statement to the Commission and after examining it, the ACC found that she concealed wealth of Tk 1.86 crore.
