Padma Bridge Graft case: Court acquits 7 govt officials

A Dhaka court on Sunday acquitted seven government officials, including former Bridges Division secretary Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, in Padma Bridge graft case.

The other six officials are--Superintendent Engineer of Bangladesh Bridge Authority Kazi Mohammad Ferdous, Executive Engineer of Roads and Highways Department Reaz Ahmed Zaber, and former local agent of SNC Lavalin Mohammad Mostofa and its ex-officials Mohammad Ismail, Ramesh Shah and Kevin Wales.

Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court Judge Md Zahirul Haque, passed the order.

On September 17, Mirza Jahidul Alam, chief investigation officer of the case and deputy director of the Anti-Corruption Commission, submitted the report with Chief Metropolitan Court (CMM).

On December 17, 2012, ACC filed a case with Banani Thana accusing seven officials.
