Bangladesh's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport is Asia's 9th worst airport, according to Sleeping at Airports, a website that gives tips for sleeping at airports.

The site's annual ranking, based on tourist surveys that asked about comfort and crowds at terminals, Wi-Fi, food options and overall cleanliness, gave it low marks for its large crowds and lackluster security.

According to Sleeping at Airports, Pakistan’s Islamabad Benazir Bhutto International Airport is the world's and Asia's worst airport.

Other worst airports in Asia are Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal (2nd worst); Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Philippines (3rd worst); Tashkent International Airport, Uzbekistan (4th worst); Hanoi Noi Bai International Airport, Vietnam (5th worst); Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, China (6th worst); Phnom Penh International Airport, Cambodia (7th worst); Ho Chi Minh City Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Vietnam (8th worst); Dhaka Shahjalal International Airport, Bangladesh (9th worst); and Chennai International Airport, India (10th worst).

Regarding the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, it has been said that this airport is known to be dated, slow-moving, insect-filled and short on amenities.

"Everywhere smells, very rude immigration police and airport staff, corrupt people, and insects everywhere," Quoting a traveller," said Sleeping at Airports, quoting a traveller.

Another traveller, who lived in Dhaka for four years, said because of frequent flight delays, he had spent quite a bit of time camping out, both by himself and with large groups of people.
