President Abdul Hamid left Dhaka on Thursday night for Beijing to attend the Dialogue on Strengthening Connectivity Partnership at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
A regular flight of Singapore Airlines carrying the President took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:55 pm.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, the dean of diplomatic corps, the cabinet secretary, the chiefs of three services, the senior secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office and other high civil and military officials saw him off at the airport.
The President is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Myanmar President Thein Sein during the tour.
Abdul Hamid will go to Singapore on November 11 from China for medical checkup and is expected to return home on November 16.
