A legal notice has been sent to BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman for making derogatory comments about Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Former general secretary of Supreme Court Bar Association Advocate Momtaz Uddin Ahmed ( Mehedi ) on Sunday morning sent the legal notice through registry post and via fax as well.

In the notice Tarique Rahman, also the eldest son of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, has been asked to reply within next seven days.

Earlier on Wednesday, while addressing a discussion in East London arranged by the UK chapter of BNP, marking the ‘National Revolution and Solidarity Day’, Tarique Rahman said a sedition case should be filed against Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for being the president of Bangladesh after returning home with a Pakistani passport.
