The Jubo League, an associate body of the ruling Awami League, celebrates its 42 founding anniversary. The organisation founded on November 11, 1972 will observe various programmes which include lighting of candles at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi Road-32 at one minute past zero hours, placing of wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu there at 9 in the morning and at the graves of the martyrs including JL founder-chairman Sheikh Fazlul Huq Moni at Banani graveyard and holding of a doa mahfil there at 10 am.
The organisation will also organise a rally at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in the city at 3 pm on November 15 to mark its founding anniversary. Awami League president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to attend the programme as the chief guest.
Jubo league chairman Omar Faruque Chowdhury in a statement urged the district, thana, upazila, union and ward units to observe the anniversary with successful programmes. The organisation was founded at the instruction of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman under the leadership of Sheikh Fazlul Huq Moni where Nure Alam Siddiqui was its general secretary.
