The government has sent Joint Secretary (OSD) Abul Kasem Talukder, who had obtained fake freedom fighter certificate, on forced retirement.

The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Sunday. However, the order was made public on Wednesday.

The order said as officer on special duty Abul Kasem Talukder completed 25 years in service and as the government thinks he should be sent on retirement in the public interest, the government sent him to retirement.

It, however, said he will enjoy all post-retirement privileges as per the law.

Earlier on Thursday, Health Secretary M Neazuddin Miah and Public Service Commission Secretary AKM Amir Hossain, who had also managed fake freedom fighter certificates through fraudulence, went on voluntary retirement.

The four -- Neazuddin, Amir Hossain, former Liberation War Affairs secretary KH Masud Siddiqui and Abul Kasem Talukder -- were stripped of their freedom fighter certificates on September 22.

The government had served show-cause notices upon the four on October 28 asking them to explain why departmental actions would not be taken against them for using fake freedom fighter certificates.
