Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq has said the scrutiny of real freedom fighters will be completed by December. "Identifying the fake freedom fighters, the government has taken an initiave to try them through a tribunal," he told reporters at his office at the secretariat on Wednesday.
He said certificates of some 3,000 fake freedom fighters would be cancelled.
Besides, the government is contemplating formation of tribunals by framing special laws to address the national important and controversial issues like forgery of freedom fighters' certificates and recovery of government lands.
The minister said those who took freedom fighter's certificates providing false information, action will be taken against them.
