
“The government is trying to create a smokescreen over Latif Siddique and taking undue advantage of the situation,” Fakhrul told a press briefing at the BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan office in the afternoon.
He also said that the country people want to know if Siddique really returned home. “If yes, then why the government is not arresting him yet? Why he is not being taken in front of us.”
Terming the former minister’s return a ‘staged drama’, the 20-party spokesperson question, “Was that done only to run a campaign that militancy has been grown up in the country and only they (the government) have the ability to curb it.”
He also demanded that the government be taken effective measures against Latif Siddique soon.
