Authorities have put war criminal Delwar Hossain Sayedee on gardening duties at Dhaka Central Jail-1 located in Gazipur's Kashimpur. The Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Amir there is serving an 'imprisonment until death' sentence given for his crimes against humanity committed during Bangladesh's Liberation War in 1971. Jailor Amzad Hossain Don said Sayedee was given the duty of gardening because he was physically weak. He told bdnews24.com that the Jamaat leader was suffering from backaches and cardiac instability. Sayedee cannot walk by himself, he needed help, he said. That's why no pressure was put on him despite his inability to finish the tasks properly, the jailor said. Ailing Sayedee usually passed time in his cell, he added. ?bdnews24.com
