Zia Charitable Trust graft case: No bar to continue trial

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on Sunday rejected a leave-to-appeal petition filed by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in Zia Charitable Trust graft case.

The court also cleared the way for makeshift to continue the trial proceedings against BNP Chief in Zia Charitable Trust corruption case.

A five-member Appellate Division bench, headed by Chief Justice Md Muzammel Hossain rejected the appeal.

Earlier on November 24, the SC rejected two other leave-to-appeal petitions filed by Khaleda Zia in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case

On July 6, BNP chief filed the leave-to-appeal with the SC against the High Court order that rejected her review petition against the framing of charges by Dhaka Special Judges Court-3 in Zia Charitable Trust graft case.
