Malaysia to take 12,000 workers from Bangladesh

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that Malaysia has agreed to import 12,000 workers from Bangladesh.

Malaysian Prime Minister Mohd Najib bin Abdul Razak agreed to take the manpower from Bangladesh, she said.

The Prime Minister disclosed it at a press briefing that began at her official residence Ganabhaban in the capital on Friday afternoon.

The press conference was convened to brief the media about her recent visit to Nepal for attending the SAARC Summit and on a three-day official visit to Malaysia.

Sheikh Hasina said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured her of resolving the Teesta water sharing during her talks with him in Kathmandu.

She also said the Indian Prime Minister pledged to work with Bangladesh against terrorism and militancy.

The Prime Minister said, "The SARRC Summit has been very successful. Many of our proposals were approved."
