
The first incident took place at Rupnagar in Mirpur around 5:00am when Abdul Aziz, 30, a rickshaw puller and a resident of the area, was returning to his residence from Sayedabad Bus Stand on a CNG-autorickshaw.
A group of muggers stopped him near his residence and snatched Tk 80,000 stabbing him indiscriminately.
He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Aziz brought the money from his village home in Bagerhat to go abroad for work, his wife Rabeya said.
The second incident occurred near Proshika Bhaban in Rupnagar area around 10:30am when a group of muggers snatched Tk 90 lakh from a BKash agent from a car after shooting its driver.
The driver of the car was taken to National Institute of Traumatology and orthopedic Rehabilitation (NITOR).
Meanwhile, a group of muggers numbering ¾ intercepted Abul Kalam, a general manager of a general store, and snatched Tk 19 lakh from Khilgaon area around 12:00pm.
The muggers shot at his leg and fled the scene after snatching the money from him.
Later, Abul Kalam was also brought to DMCH.
