3 bikers killed in Manikganj road crash

Manikganj : A truck rammed into a motorcycle on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Saturia upazila on Sunday afternoon that left three riders dead.

The deceased were identified as Al Mamun, 18, a student of Government Debendra College and son of former chairman of Dhankora UP Altaf Hossain, and Saikat Hossain Tipu, 21, son of Shahinur Rahman of the same UP, and Hridoy Hossain, 20, son of Soheluddin of Narayanganj district.

Golora Highway thana OC Mizanul Islam said a speeding truck rammed into a bike near Akij Tobacco factory at the BSCIC Industrial Estate at about 4:30pm, killing Mamun and Hridoy on the spot.

Seriously injured Saikat was first admitted to Manikganj Sadar Hospital and then referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital following deterioration of his condition. He died on way to the DMCH.
