The Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday approved nine projects involving Tk 7900 crore.
Among of the projects, Dhaka Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport, Jessore and Saidpur Airport security system development projects involve Tk 562 crore. The approval at the ECNEC meeting held at the NEC conference room in the city's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar with ECNEC Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, after the meeting, told reporters that ECNEC approved a total of nine development projects.
He said, "Four lakh consumers will receive electricity in Barishal and Khulna Division, which will cost Tk 1,824 crore. These projects will be implemented by Rural Electrification Expansion Activities in Barisal Division-2 and Rural Electrification Expansion Activities in Khulna Division-2.
Besides, school feeding program in the poverty-affected areas, Natun Dakatia Puratan Dakatia Chhoto Feni river sewerage (fifthamendment), Dhaka Water Supply and Sanitation project (1st amendment), Jaqmalpur-Madanganj Sarak Prastutkaran O Mojbutikaran and small bridges and culvert building projects were approved.
