Narsingdi: A transport trader was shot to death by miscreants over toll at Ghorashal in Polash upazila early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Milon Mia, 40, a resident of Phuldirtek area in the upazila.

Victim's relatives said a group of miscreants stormed into the house of Milon in the early hours and opened fire on him, leaving him injured.

Milon died on the way to Narsingdi General Hospital. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for autopsy.

Family sources said some local terrorists demanded toll from Milon a few days back as he constructed a house in the area. But Milon refused to pay the toll.

They said Milon might have been killed over his refusal to pay toll.

Officer-in-charge of Polash Police Station Shahadat Hossain said they detained three people for interrogation.
