Tangail: At least eight people were killed and four other injured when a truck rammed into a three wheeler at Ashura area in Madhupur upazila on Wednesday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known.

Sun-inspector Alamgir Hossain of Madhupur Police Station said, a Madhupur-bound truck rammed into a tempo in the area around 12:15pm, leaving one dead on the spot.

Among the injured, seven died on way to Madhupur Upazila Health Complex.

After the accident, local people seized the truck but its driver and helpers managed to flee.
