Khulna: A 'ringleader' of a robber gang killed in a gunfight with the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Sutarkhali area in Dakop upazila on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Kashen, ringleader of 'Kashem Bahini'.

Senior ASP Harun-or-Rashid of RAB said, acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB conducted drive in the area around 10pm.

Sensing their presence, the robber gang opened fire, In retaliation, police also fired back to protect them which created a gunfight.

'Kashem was caught in the line of fire and died on the spot', said RAB.

He was an accused of seven to eight cases, police said.
