A Bangladeshi expatriate was shot to death by a miscreant in South Gate on the suburb of Johannesburg, the capital city of South Africa, early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Nurul Islam Dalim, 27, son of late Lokman Hossain of Ghoshkamta village in Sonaimuri upazila of the district.
A masked gunman stormed into the shop of Dalim while he and his business partner were shutting down it around 4am (Bangladesh time), victim's uncle Abdul Hai Bhutto told UNB from Johannesburg over phone.
The attacker opened fire indiscriminately and looted cash and other valuables from the shop, leaving Dalim dead on the spot, he said.
His partner, however, escaped the attack unhurt as he hid himself during the firing.
Family sources said Dalim went to South Africa in 2010.
Dalim's body will be brought back home after completing the necessary formalities, said family members.    ?UNB
