The 2nd-phase of Biswa Ijtema, the second largest congregation of the Muslims after hajj, entered second day on Saturday with sermons being delivered at Tongi amid blockade.
Sources said, Muslim devotees from 32 districts of the country and some devotees from Dhaka districts are participating in the second phase Ijtema.
Maulana Shawkat Hossain of India delivered sermons after Fajr prayers and Maulana Nurur Rahman of Bangladesh translated those in Bengali.
The second phase of Ijtema which began on Friday, will end on Sunday with Akheri Munajat.
The first phase of the Ijtema started on January 9 and ended on January 11.
