Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday told Parliament that an international conspiracy is on to destabilise Bangladesh like other Muslim majority countries of the world. "Some are creating troubles in the countries where Muslims are the majority. In our country, Muslims account for 90 percent of the total population," she said taking part in an unscheduled discussion. Asserting that she will not allow anyone to make Bangladesh a den of militants, Hasina said her government has been able to maintain peace in the country having 90 percent Muslim population. "The people of all faiths are performing their rituals peacefully?most people are living a safe and peaceful life in the country, but some vested quarters cannot like this ideal situation [in Bangladesh]," the Prime Minister told the House. Hasina said efforts are on to let loose militants in Bangladesh. "I won't let anyone to unleash militancy in Bangladesh as long as I'm alive, come what may?I just want the cooperation of people," she said. The Prime Minister called upon people not to be misguided by the propaganda of the vested quarters. Turning to BNP-led 20-party alliance's ongoing movement, Hasina what is Khaleda Zia is now doing is not a democratic movement at all. "This is militant and terrorist acts." Mentioning that the world leaders are now united against militancy, the Prime Minister said, "Militants have no place in Bangladesh?we'll surely uproot them all." Hasina went on saying: "There's no national issue for waging any movement by Khaleda Zia. It's rather personal?just to save herself and her sons. We are facing the situation with patience, we want to provide security to public life and property, and for that we'll do whatever is necessary." About killing innocent people through hurling petrol bombs, she said these are all killings. "The trial of these murders will be held like other murders, and there'll no mercy to those responsible for all this?their trial will be held on Bangladesh soil." Displaying some gruesome pictures of the victims of petrol bombs and arson attacks, the Prime Minister questioned about the intention of Khaleda Zia by killing innocent people. "What does she want to gain by killing people?" ?UNB
