Lalbagh ‘bomb maker’ Bappi dies

Alleged bomb maker and Chhatra Dal activist Bappi, who received injuries in a bomb explosion at Lalbagh in the capital on Wednesday, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Thursday morning.

DMCH camp in-charge inspector Mozammel Haque said that New Market thana unit JCD general secretary Bappi, 27, succumbed to his injuries at about 6am at the DMCH Burn Unit.

Bappi, son of Abdul Mannan, lived with his sister at a flat at 31/2 Dhakeshwari Road, old part of the capital.

The explosion took place at the house on Wednesday afternoon that also left two other injured—Bappi's niece Happy Akhter, 13, and nephew Ripon,6.
