
Dhaka Art Centre in Dhanmondi has organised a group art exhibition of Dhaka Artists Group titled "Exploring Diverse Mediums". The exhibition was inaugurated on January 23. Bangladeshi expatriate artist Shahabuddin Ahmed inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest. Tasmima Hossain, acting editor of Daily Ittefaq and editor of Weekly Ananya was present as special guest.
Dhaka Artists Group is well known for its inventive ideas, thinking processes and individual creative expressions. The aim of the group exposition is to assemble artists belonging to different age groups, working on diverse themes and with different mediums. Through the exhibition of a number of contemporary painters, one can easily comprehend the current trends of Bangladeshi art. The painters' modes of expressions are varied and it is true that they are greatly enthralled by pure abstraction, abstract expressionism, neo-expressionism, surrealism, realism and semi-realism.
Participating artists are Rezaun Nabi, Md. Zahir Hossain, Zaman Mohammed Fakruzzaman, Md. Mahabubul Islam Babu, Debashis Pal, Md. Anisuzzaman Anis, Rajaul Islam Lovelu, Shahin Akther Lipi, Md. Abdul Aziz, M. M. Maizuddin, Fahmida Khatun, Tejosh Halder.
The exhibition will remain open every day from 3pm to 8pm till January 27.
