Prime Minister’s Information Adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury said BNP shows an attitude which is out of political and social courtesy returning Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from the gate of BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan office.

“Being a mother, the Prime Minister went to convey sympathy to bereaved Khaleda Zia but none was present at the gate of BNP Chief Gulshan office to receive the Prime Minister,” Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury told the reporters at the premises of BNP Chief's Gulshan Office on Saturday evening.

After hearing the death news of BNP chairperson’s son, the Prime Minister rushed to the Khaleda’s office  without any protocol and state rules, the Prime Minister’s Information adviser and also the Editor of Daily Observer said adding showing minimum decorum to the head of the state, none opened the gate for PM’s entrance.

Iqbal Sobhan said, “It would be well-mannered if anyone on behalf of BNP met the Prime Minister and told her something, but unfortunately it was not done”.

Asked whether the PM’s arrival was earlier informed, the information adviser said, “It is immaterial to inform earlier or not. The reality is the Prime Minister arrived to console Khaleda”.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia's younger Son Arafat Rahman Koko died of cardiac arrest at a hospital in Malaysia (Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun) on Saturday.
