Narsingdi: Seven suspected dacoits were killed and another one was injured in a mob lynch attack at Bhatpara village in Sadar upazila early Monday.

The identities of the deceased could not be known yet.

Local sources said, sensing the presence of robbers, an announcement was made from a local mosque around 3am to catch them saying that a gang was preparing to commit robbery.

Hearing the announcement, dacoits exploded cocktails to create panic.

Later, local people surrounded the area and managed to catch eight people. They gave them a good beating, leaving seven dead on the spot and one injured.

On information, police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured from the spot. He was admitted to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital.
