Jhenidah road accident kills 4

Jhenidah: Four people were killed and four others injured when a truck rammed into a three wheeler at Abashan Prokalpa area in Shailkupa upazila on Friday morning.

The injured were admitted to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital. Among four, three are in critical condition.

The deceased were identified as--Shafiuddin Shafi, 35, son of Abdul Gafur Biswas, Mojibor Rahman, 37, Riazul Islam, 40, and Aminul Islam. All the dead were betel-leaf traders.

Shailkupa Fire Service and Civil Defense Office Station officer Abdur Rauf Mollah said, a Jessore-bound truck coming from opposite side rammed into a betel-leaf-laden three wheeler, locally named as tempo, in the area around 6:30am, leaving four dead on the spot and four others injured.

Shailkupa Thana officer in-charge Hashem Khan said, the bodies were sent to Sadar Hospital morgue.
