Unidentified youth killed in Mirpur 'gunfight'

An unidentified youth was killed in a 'gunfight' with members of law enforcers in capital's Mirpur area early Thursday.

Mirpur Thana sub-inspector Md Salim said, a group of miscreants exploded cocktails and opened fire sensing the presence of police at East Manipur area around 3:30am. In retaliation, police also fired back which created a gunfight.

"A youth was caught in the line of fire and died on the spot," SI said.

The body was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue.
